For whatever reason, the first time I saw this film in the cinema I wasn't particularly taken by it. I had no complaints but I walked out without really forming an opinion on it.
Fast forward 8 years to 2007, I decided to hire the DVD as part of my obsession on Wes Bentley.
I was really impressed with this film on seeing it a second (and third) time. The story, acting and cinematography are superb. The film is richly layered with lots of subtle symbolism. All in all, it is a successful commentary on modern living and the duality of the human experience.
The DVD extras are also quite decent and even though I usually don't enjoy the commentary and interviews, I watched them all and found it gave great insight into the film. (That's the real official reason I watched it twice, honest).
